Introduction
Law Help 4 You ("we," "our," "the platform") is an online legal services marketplace that connects individuals, families, and businesses with qualified and experienced advocates across India. Our platform facilitates services including legal consultation, case representation, documentation drafting, dispute resolution, and compliance advisory across multiple practice areas.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, mobile platform, and all legal services offered through Law Help 4 You. By registering, booking a consultation, or engaging any advocate through our platform, you unconditionally accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services immediately.
Eligibility to Use Our Services
To register and use the services offered on Law Help 4 You, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- You must be at least 18 years of age or a legally recognised entity (company, firm, trust, or organisation) under Indian law.
- You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information during registration and throughout your engagement with our platform.
- You must not be prohibited from receiving legal services under any applicable law, court order, or regulatory restriction.
- Corporate clients must ensure that the individual registering on behalf of the organisation is duly authorised to bind the entity to these Terms.
Nature of Legal Services
Law Help 4 You provides a platform for clients to connect with independent advocates offering the following categories of legal services:
- Legal Consultation: One-on-one advisory sessions with advocates specialising in civil, criminal, family, property, corporate, consumer, labour, taxation, and other areas of law.
- Case Representation: Engagement of advocates for representation before courts, tribunals, arbitration panels, and regulatory authorities.
- Documentation & Drafting: Preparation and review of legal documents including agreements, contracts, affidavits, wills, power of attorney, notices, and court pleadings.
- Dispute Resolution: Facilitation of mediation, arbitration, and negotiation services for civil and commercial disputes.
- Compliance & Advisory: Guidance on regulatory compliance, business structuring, licensing, and statutory obligations for individuals and organisations.
The legal services are rendered by independent advocates empanelled on our platform. Law Help 4 You acts as a facilitator and is not itself a law firm or legal practitioner. The advocate-client relationship is solely between you and the advocate you engage.
Client Obligations & Responsibilities
As a client using our platform, you agree to the following responsibilities:
- Provide truthful, complete, and accurate information about your legal matter to your advocate to enable effective representation and advice.
- Cooperate fully with your assigned advocate by providing required documents, responding to queries, and attending scheduled consultations or hearings punctually.
- Not use our platform for any unlawful purpose, including filing frivolous cases, harassing advocates, or misrepresenting facts to obtain guidance and support.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or security breach.
- Honour all payment obligations in a timely manner as agreed with your advocate or as specified on the platform.
- Understand that legal outcomes cannot be guaranteed and that the advice received is based on the information you provide and applicable law at the time of consultation.
Fees, Payment & Refund Policy
All fees for legal services on Law Help 4 You are determined by the individual advocates and are clearly disclosed before you confirm a booking or engagement:
- Consultation Fees: Fixed or variable consultation charges as displayed on each advocate's profile, payable in advance at the time of booking.
- Retainer & Representation Fees: Fees for ongoing representation, case filing, or documentation services are agreed directly between the client and advocate and must be documented in writing.
- Platform Charges: Law Help 4 You may levy a nominal platform facilitation fee, which will be disclosed transparently at the time of payment.
- Refund Policy: Consultation fees are refundable only if the session is cancelled by the advocate or if rescheduling is not possible. Fees for completed consultations or services rendered are non-refundable. Disputes regarding refunds must be raised within 7 days of the transaction.
- GST & Taxes: All applicable taxes including GST will be charged as per current Indian tax regulations and will be reflected in your invoice.
Advocate Standards & Platform Conduct
All advocates listed on Law Help 4 You are required to adhere to professional standards set by the Bar Council of India and our platform policies:
- Advocates must hold a valid Certificate of Practice issued by the Bar Council of the respective State and must not be under any suspension or disciplinary action.
- Advocates are required to maintain professional conduct, punctuality, and responsiveness in all client interactions facilitated through our platform.
- Advocates must not solicit clients through means prohibited under the Bar Council of India Rules or engage in fee-splitting, kickbacks, or any other unethical practices.
- Any misconduct, misrepresentation, or breach of professional ethics reported by clients will be investigated and may result in the advocate's removal from the platform and referral to the relevant Bar Council.
Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer
Law Help 4 You operates as a technology-enabled facilitator connecting clients with independent legal professionals. The following limitations apply to our liability:
- Law Help 4 You does not guarantee any specific legal outcome, court verdict, settlement, or result from services rendered by advocates listed on our platform.
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, or prejudice arising from advice provided by advocates, delays in legal proceedings, or actions taken or not taken based on consultation received through our platform.
- General information published on our website (articles, FAQs, legal guides) is for informational purposes only and does not constitute formal legal advice or create an attorney-client relationship.
- Our platform's total liability in any dispute shall be limited to the fees paid by you for the specific service in question.
- We are not responsible for any technical failures, internet connectivity issues, or force majeure events that affect service delivery.
Intellectual Property Rights
All content, design elements, trademarks, logos, legal guides, articles, and software available on the Law Help 4 You platform are the exclusive intellectual property of Law Help 4 You or its licensors.
- You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, republish, or commercially exploit any content from our platform without prior written permission.
- Legal documents prepared by advocates for your matter are your property upon full payment; however, template documents and precedents remain the intellectual property of the platform or the respective advocate.
- Any feedback, reviews, or suggestions you submit to us may be used by Law Help 4 You to improve our services without any obligation of compensation to you.
Termination of Access
Law Help 4 You reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the platform under the following circumstances:
- Violation of any provision of these Terms & Conditions or our Privacy Policy.
- Fraudulent activity, misrepresentation, or providing false information during registration or in the course of availing services.
- Harassment, abuse, or threatening behaviour towards advocates, platform staff, or other users.
- Non-payment of due fees or initiating fraudulent chargebacks without legitimate cause.
- Any conduct that is unlawful, unethical, or brings disrepute to the platform or the legal profession.
You may also terminate your account at any time by sending a written request to our support team. Termination does not absolve you of any outstanding payment obligations.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including but not limited to the Indian Contract Act, 1872, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and applicable Bar Council of India Rules.
- Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through mutual negotiation within 30 days of written notice.
- If negotiation fails, disputes shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat of arbitration in India.
- For matters not subject to arbitration, the courts of competent jurisdiction in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Consumer disputes may also be raised before the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission as per the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Law Help 4 You reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of our platform after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
